FAQ
Q. What is this "NSIS Error"? Is there a
virus?
A. An error occurred while downloading the installation file and
it is corrupt. The only resolution to this problem is to delete
that file and download a new installation file. This is most
likely to happen during "high traffic" times, so if it's a
recurring problem try downloading at a different time in the
day.
Q. The game starts but I only see part of
the screen. It's too big! What's going on?
A. This game requires a video monitor capable of 1024 x 768
pixel resolution. If your monitor can not display at these
settings you will only see part of the screen, a black screen or
bands of color.
Q. The game starts but I don't see the
game screen only black or bands of color. Why?
A. Something is limiting your video output resolution, either
your video monitor or your video screen. You need to be able to
set your screen to 1024 x 768 x 32 bit color depth for the game
to run properly.
Q. I'm playing the trial and the game is
running really slow and/or the cursor is moving really slow and
is irratic.
A. This game requires a lot of video Ram to run the high
resolution graphics. The slow game and erratic cursor are a good
indication that your video card just won't play this game
properly. I'm afraid there is no setting that will fix this.
Q. How do I quit or minimize the game
quickly?
A. Alt-Tab will minimize the game. Click on the GHOST Hunters
icon on your taskbar to bring the window back up. This does not
stop your timer! Alt-F4 will quit the game, however it does not
save your game so you may have to restart that level.
Q. My hint wand doesn't seem to work. What
am I supposed to do with it?
A. Move the wand slowly around the screen until it starts to
make a clicking noise and the lights turn red. Faster clicking
and more lights mean you are closer to the object. You can use
it to zone in on an object in your list.
Q. How do I save my game?
A. Your progress is automatically saved as you complete each
level. Also, your game is saved when you leave the map screen
and return to the main menu by clicking the "save and exit"
button.
Q. How do I delete the trial version when
I'm done?
A. Click on Start, then Programs or All Programs and navigate to
G.H.O.S.T. Hunters. Click on "Uninstall GHOST Hunters Majesty
Manor". You many need to click on the double arrow to display
all the objects in the list.
Q. Does the game come on a CD? Can I get
it on a CD?
A. The game is available as a download file from the internet to
your computer. A backup copy CD is available at the time of
purchase for an additional fee. Look for it under "Additional
Information" on the order form.
Q. Is the game sold in stores?
A. A boxed retail version is not currently in stores, however it
may be in the future.
Q. Will the game become available for sale
at my favorite game portal?
A. Possibly. A wait and see approach is best if you have a
preferred site to purchase your game.
Q. I want to buy the game, do I have to
download it again?
A. No. Once you download the trial version you only need to pay
for a registration key to unlock the full version.
Q. I paid for the game, now what?
A. You will receive an e-mail from BMT Micro with the name "G.H.O.S.T.
Hunters" in the subject line that contains your registration
name and key. The next time you start the game, click on "Enter
Registration Key" on the first window and copy and paste the
information from the e-mail into the registration name and key
fields to unlock the full version of the game.
Q. Help! My registration key doesn't work.
A. The key is long and prone to typos so you should highlight it
in the e-mail, right mouse click and choose "copy" or Ctrl-C,
then right mouse click and choose "paste" or Ctrl-V to paste it
into the registration key field.
Q. Is your site secure for credit card
purchases?
A. All purchase information is routed to a secure server
operated by a company called BMT Micro. They have been in the
business of software distribution and order fufillment since
1992.
Q. Will there be a G.H.O.S.T. Hunters 2?
A. That's the plan, however a release date has not been
established yet.
Q. Did I hear something about an embedded
puzzle? Is there a prize?
A. ...coming soon...
